Civic Academy Applications
Through March 24, DRCOG is seeking applications for the spring 2023 Civic Academy. Starting April 18, the seven-week in-person academy will meet every Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. Over the past decade, Civic Academy of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) has inspired and prepared numerous alumni to serve as elected officials, and hundreds of participants have gone on to positions in public agencies or nonprofit organizations that shape Colorado’s future. Many more have used the knowledge and experience they gained to simply become more involved in their neighborhoods and communities.
The Road Ahead
Join Transportation Solutions for The Road Ahead! Our 18th annual seminar will feature a small buffet breakfast, presentations, and a special panel discussion that will be recorded and released as a podcast. Take part in a conversation about sustainable and transit-oriented development in Denver. We’ll be joined by Jason B. Schor, co-author of the book Building a Multimodal Future: Connecting Real Estate Development and Transportation Demand Management to Ease Gridlock, published by the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and a regular speaker on the topic of development related TDM policies. Schor, will tell the story of Tysons Corner (Northern Virginia) and how they significantly increased density around a shopping center but were able to reduce traffic to an acceptable level.
